Mending 101: Learn the basics of hand sewing and the history of the craft while lessening your consumption by repairing your own clothing in this beginner-level class led by Curiosity Studio. Participants will learn five basic stitching and patching methods and walk away with needles, thread and a reference guide. Masking required in class. 18+. Paws on the Patio Fashion Show: Take in a (human) fashion show while admiring some adorable pups at this family-friendly, outdoor event benefiting Underdog Rescue. Held on Luminary Coffeehouse’s back patio, The show features looks from neighboring shops Spoils of Wear, Leo Footwear and Teeny Bee Boutique, plus coffee and treats from Luminary, mocktails, a discount at each shop the evening of the event, swag bags for VIP guests—and best of all, adoptable dogs. 100% of ticket proceeds go to Underdog Rescue. Cocktail Glassware 101 & Cocktail Kit Making Class: Create your own custom dried infusion cocktail kit in this class hosted by vintage home store The Mustache Cat with local cocktail kit maker, Adørnwell. Then, store owner Rebecca Sansone will discuss types of glassware, and how and when to use them. Attendees will also get to chose two vintage glasses to take home, and receive a discount to shop the store that evening. This event is BYOB (alcohol not provided). 20-Acre Artisan & Vintage Market: Shop over 100 vintage vendors and artisans on a 20-acre farm at this event, held twice a summer presented by The Vintage Pixie. Hermine Launch Party: Downtown Minneapolis is getting its one and only vintage shop with this weekend's opening of Hermine. Founded by husband-and-wife couple Lilly Alexander and Willy Schwartz, the shop is an offshoot of Goodshop Badshop, the duo's popular online vintage store. Like GSBS, Hermine will emphasis quality craftsmanship and timeless designs, including primarily natural fibers like linen, silk, wool and cotton, and it will carry a mix of men's and women's vintage apparel, accessories and home decor, as well as a special assortment from my very own Rosella Vintage. Rewind Vintage’s Get Pretty Sale: Rewind’s famous Get Pretty Sale is back. MN Record Show: Since 1992, the MN Record Show has been the largest Twin Cities record show. This month is a special 40th anniversary celebration of Prince’s Purple Rain and features special guests Andrea Swensson (author of a new Purple Rain–centric book) and famed Prince photographer Allen Beaulieu, who will be signing his book Prince Before the Rain and selling signed photo prints. Fat Flea Body Positive Fat-Centric Market: Co-presented by local apparel makers Esther Edna Clothing and MX Apparel (both of which make it a point to offer XL+ clothing), this self-proclaimed body-positive, fat-centric market features a mix of handmade and vintage apparel for plus-sized bodies as well as jewelry, artwork, housewares and more celebrating fat bodies or made by plus-size makers. Powderhorn Art Fair: The 33rd annual juried show at Powderhorn Park returns with more than 190 regional and national artists from a variety of disciplines as well as artists from the Powderhorn neighborhood spread over the park’s 66 acres. Uptown Air Fair Detour at Bachman’s: In lieu of the cancellation of this year’s traditional Uptown Art Fair due to ongoing construction, Bachman’s is hosting a smaller version of the event at its Richfield HQ. The juried fine arts festival will feature approximately 150 artists, interactive art activities and demonstrations, live performances, youth art fair, family-friendly activities, food and beverage options and a free shuttled from a designated parking lot. The Golden Pearl Back Alley Bazaar: The Golden Pearl Vintage’s annual Back Alley Bazaar is an annual tradition. It features vintage clothing and accessories that are “not perfect, but still dang cute!” collected throughout the year for a blow-out shopping event held behind the shop. This year, the shop will be joined by neighboring vintage shops, Olio Vintage and Moth Oddities with even more vintage deals.
