Wild Vintage Collective: After a temporary closure due to recent flooding, Wild Vintage Collective—home to over 40 local vintage clothing and home goods dealers—and Wild Vintage Antiques along with the adjoining Clapping Monkey House of Coffee have reopened. The original 18,000 square feet of the space will be condensed due to remaining repair work to be done, but the majority of the vendors have returned. A Common Thread Annual Member Exhibition: The Textile Center’s annual member exhibition, A Common Thread, returns for its 23rd year, showcasing a diverse, innovative array of fiber art created by the center’s members. Each year, over a hundred artworks adorn the walls of Textile Center’s galleries in an exhibition that is as diverse in technique as it is prolific in scope. Techniques include stitching, quilting, knitting, crochet, sewing, weaving, dyeing, felting, needlework, hand construction, polymer clay, lacemaking, basketry, beading, sculpture, mixed media and more. The Nicollet xChange: Presented by Global Fashion Exchange, LUUM Collective and Downtown Improvement District, this weekly outdoor pop-up gives downtowners the chance to swap quality and quirky items in a marketplace setting. Each month will have a different theme as well as demos featuring a local artist, maker or expert to share skills like how to mend holes in clothing or tips to keep house plants thriving. Uptown Air Fair: Billed as the largest art fair in the state, this annual fest attracts crowds of people every year to the intersection of Hennepin Avenue South and West Lake Street. Nokomis Days: Every August, the Nokomis East community gathers forNokomis Days. The Golden Pearl Back Alley Bazaar: The Golden Pearl Vintage’s annual Back Alley Bazaar is back, promising vintage clothing and accessories that are “not perfect, but still dang cute!” Throughout the year as the shop curates its selection of vintage for the store, they sometimes come across things that are damaged, but still amazing. All of these items get saved for this blow-out shopping event held behind the shop. This year, the shop will be joined by neighboring vintage shops, Olio Vintage and Moth Oddities with even more vintage deals. 33rd Annual Polo Classic: The annual Polo Classic is always must on the style-inclined’s social calendar. Held at the Twin Cities Polo Club Field in Maple Plain, the event is a smorgasbord of classic cars—including rare editions of Aston Martin, Bentley, Maserati, Mercedes, Rolls Royce, Jaguar, Porsche, Ferrari, you name it—and well-dressed gents and ladies wearing wide-brimmed hats and wedges (all the better to hoof about in the green field’s soft soil). While the live polo match is the centerpiece of the event, it also includes a divot stomp, champagne sipping, and a hat parade with awards.
