The Nicollet xChange: Presented by Global Fashion Exchange, LUUM Collective and Downtown Improvement District, this weekly outdoor pop-up gives downtowners the chance to swap quality and quirky items in a marketplace setting. The Barbie Movie Premieres: At long last, the Greta Gerwig–directed Barbie movie starring Margot Robbie as Barbie and Ryan Gosling-as Ken is here. It’s providing the perfect excuse for a themed group outing, so grab your gals and gays to see the movie in a theater and dress the part. The legendary doll has decades of outfits and various job titles, offering a plethora of options for everyone to find the Barbie look that suits their style. My recommendation? Art on the Edge Festival: This second-annual fest in Linden Hills celebrates local art meets the metaphysical world. Held in the “secret garden” behind Everett & Charlie Art Gallery, its features over 50 vendors showcasing everything from visual art to transformative holistic practices including tarot readers, crystal and pendulum experts, a community-created street mandala, and a psychic gallery reading. Uptown Market: Formerly the Lake + Irving Market, neighboring shops Legacy, Les Sól and Combine have joined forces for a new event series. EVOLVE Fall 2023: Despite Fashion Week MN taking a hiatus from a fall season (with plans to return in April 2024), its finale event EVOLVE is returning for a fall showing. Avant Garden 2023: The party of the year is returning this September 23.
