Local shops supports the Rainbow Circle: Uptown stores Les Sól, Legacy and Combine are joining forces with neighboring restaurants Barbette, Pinoli, Trapeze and more to support the Rainbow Circle, a new community programming division of Twin Cities Pride. The Rainbow Circle aims to partner with local LGBTQIA+ individuals and organizations, providing funding for programming, a gathering place and year-round education and community service programs. Mining Mending: Rethink, Reuse, Revive Artist Reception: This exhibition explores and celebrates the many facets of mending as a part of creative practice. A cohort of internationally recognized artists has come together to exhibit, teach, and talk about mending as both physical process and metaphor. Program exhibitions, discussions and workshops are designed to focus on topics from healing practice to social practice, to economic and environmentally informed practice, and to building and maintaining bridges to textile traditions. Parker Posey: Party Girl Film Screenings: “Queen of the Indies” Parker Posey stars in this iconic, cult-favorite film from the ‘90s about an uber-fashionable downtown club kid who takes a job as a librarian. It also tells the story of the ’90s underground New York club scene and features costume design that combines vintage Vivienne Westwood and Jean Paul Gaultier pieces with thrifted items—the movie is essentially an hour-and-a-half style montage with one high-style look after another. Dinosaur Hampton Summer Collection Party: Benjamin Kelly of Dinosaur Hampton has been known for his custom chainstitch embroidery pop-ups around the Twin Cities over the past few years. He's since shifted gears from embroidery to launch his own original clothing line last year. Inspired by vintage clothing, Dinosaur Hampton will offer a range of wearable goods “for all kinds of people with all kinds of style.” The launch event will have his original garments and accessories for sale in different sizes and fabrics, plus music, drinks and foosball. Moth Oddities: After nearly 10 years selling vintage online, on the road and quickly outgrowing their first storefront, Moth Oddities is relocating to a larger storefront in the heart of the Saint Anthony neighborhood of Northeast Minneapolis. Half of the space will be used for the Moth Oddities vintage shop, including a designated Italian vintage section and an assortment of accessories, home goods and work by local and independent brands.
