Friedli Gallery Book Arts Exhibition Opening Reception
Friedli Gallery highlights local and national book arts in West 7th’s Arts District exhibition curated by nationally acclaimed artist Erin Maurelli. Homecoming Queen: The Wonderful World of Utica Queen
Homecoming Queen invites visitors to explore the wonderful world of Utica Queen, star of Season 13 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and a fixture of the local drag scene. The exhibition features garments, accessories and original design sketches by Ethan Mundt (Utica Queen), editorial photographs of the Drag Race alum by photographers Ben Seagren, Dan Little, Eric Magnussen, Liam James and Trevor Beaty, and a short documentary highlighting Mundt’s background and creative process by Tatyana Kurepina. This first-of-its-kind 4,000-square-foot drag fashion and photography exhibition will include immersive virtual gallery accessible to visitors worldwide. Galleria Floral Experience with Bachman's
Since 1960, spring has brought the Twin Cities a floral experience—for decades, at the downtown Minneapolis Dayton's flagship (and later when that historic building became Marshall Field's and Macy's). Local milliner Celina Kane has expanded her brand with a new bridal line. Celina Kane Bridal debuts its first collection of veils, hats, headbands, tiaras, headpieces and accessories for brides, bridal parties, mother of the bride, wedding guests and all the festivities the accompany a wedding. Some of the pieces are riffs off of Kane’s non-bridal headwear favorites, such as the Turbanette, and others are elegant, couture-quality new creations, like a headband covered in white marabous feathers and a stunning, cathedral-length veil trimmed with ostrich feathers.
