Strey Designs Belt Making Workshop
After 11 years of leather crafting, local maker Strey Designs is combining their love for leather with a hands-on workshop geared toward both casual crafters and serious makers. Get an in-depth, hands-on experience of working with leather from Strey Designs’ Sarah Butala while getting to take home your own special piece you’ve made yourself. Masks are required, or optional with proof of vaccination. This weekend’s workshop will teach you how to make a leather belt. Friday 1/28 from noon–2:30 & 3–6pm, $125. Twin Cities Vintage Fest
The Twin Cities Vintage Fest is back with ‘80s and ’90s vintage from over 100 vendors selling men’s and women’s clothing, video games, memorabilia, toys and more, including top clothing sellers like Glam Diggers Vintage, Everyday Ejiji, Kollektiv, Legacy, May Baby Vintage and yours truly’s Rosella Vintage. The event also includes food and drink, throwback tunes from a live DJ, a vintage exhibition and nostalgic photo ops, and Can Can Wonderland will be joining in the fun with classic arcade games. Get first dibs with an Early Bird ticket ($20) with 9am entry. GA admission begins at 10am ($5 advance, $8 at the door). Face masks required. Market Collective MN: Local Makers Market 
Led by local maker Chingona Goods, Market Collective MN is a new market collective that prioritizes BIPOC and queer vendors and allies. This weekend’s market features jewelry by Made by Mari Beth, Crystal Celeste Studio, Courage Clay, Northern Radish and Creative Native Beading; screen printed goods and small-batch herbs by Tender Heart Studio; hand-poured candles from Laughing Bat Candles and Northern Home Candles and upcycled, hand-painted denim from Denim Revival Co. STRIKKEKOS: The Cozy Norwegian Mitten Knitting Showcase
This winter, Norway House is celebrating the art of hand-knit mittens with an exhibition. It features around 30 different Norwegian and Nordic mitten styles made by volunteer knitters from across the Midwest, based on mitten designs from Nina Granlund Sæther’s book, Mittens From Around Norway. Plus, take part in an interactive textile wall and bring your own projects along to be featured in an online blog. Homecoming Queen: The Wonderful World of Utica Queen
Homecoming Queen invites visitors to explore the wonderful world of Utica Queen, star of Season 13 of RuPaul’s Drag Race and a fixture of the local drag scene. The exhibition features garments, accessories and original design sketches by Ethan Mundt (Utica Queen), editorial photographs of the Drag Race alum by photographers Ben Seagren, Dan Little, Eric Magnussen, Liam James and Trevor Beaty, and a short documentary highlighting Mundt’s background and creative process by Tatyana Kurepina. This first-of-its-kind 4,000-square-foot drag fashion and photography exhibition will include immersive virtual gallery accessible to visitors worldwide. NUBI Ultimate Runway Fashion Show
Tickets have just been announced for NUBI Ultimate Runway, an annual fashion show featuring the designs of local label Nubi Collections by BothDol, founded by Ethiopian-turned-Minnesota designer EliNyamal Both. Produced by Richard Moody, this year's runway theme is the historical fashion of the Nubian/Kush Empire, and proceeds benefit Kenyan refugee camp, Kakuma Camp.
