West Elm North Loop Grand Opening: Big news for fans of modern design: Brooklyn-based lifestyle and design brand, West Elm, is opening a new store in the North Loop this week. The brand’s second Minnesota location after its Edina outpost, the North Loop store will feature an assortment of products made by local indie artisans as part of the company’s LOCAL program, including Solid Manufacturing Co. and Kate Arends of Wit & Delight. Attend the store’s grand opening party with cocktails by BĒT Vodka and treats by North Mallow; a portion of proceeds benefits Urban Homeworks. First Thursdays with AudreyRose Vintage: This month for First Thursday at Northrup King Building, AudreyRose Vintage will be joined by local jewelry maker Jac & Violet for the launch of the brand’s collaboration collection. Plus, stylist Anna Alexandrae will be offering styling tips and photographer Ella Cochrane will capture the looks. FeMNist Day 2020: Coinciding with International Women’s Day, FeMNist Day was created to celebrate and spotlight local and women, femme-identifying and non-binary makers and businesses in the Twin Cities. A collaboration between author and podcast host Nora McInerny, her nonprofit, Still Kickin, and The Coven, the third annual event includes a free-to-attend night market with local vendors, an entrepreneur-funding showcase, mentor sessions, a series of workshops. Elixery's Friday Afternoon Club & First Friday Ladies Night at 2010 Artblok: Head to the Northeast laboratory of local, vegan, cruelty-free lipstick brand, Elixery, for an evening of lipstick making. Some Great People’s ShareSpace Pop-up: Rosedale Center is activating the vacant storefront recently vacated by J. Crew for a pop-up experience presented by Some Great People, Sarah Edwards’s newly rebranded marketing agency. The space will feature everything from panel discussions on “using your social media platform for good” to interactive experiences with local brands like Prairie Organic Spirits. The festivities kick off on Friday and Saturday with a two-day pop-up market featuring local brands like Queenie & Pearl, Ramadhan Designs by Rammy Mohamed, June and Stephanie’s, plus a DJ set by Ariesfirebomb on Saturday from noon–3pm.
