Twilight Music Event at Twelve Vultures: Northeast taxidermy + curiosities shop Twelve Vultures is hosting a special twilight evening of live music and shopping. St. Paul Spring Art Crawl: This open studio art fest long ago outgrew Lowertown and now sprawls throughout downtown St. Paul, stretching along Grand and University Avenues, and spans across multiple weekends in April and May, with events including open studios, dance, musical performances and interactive demonstrations. Mill City Farmers Market - Outdoor Market Season Kickoff: A mainstay since 2006, the Mill City Farmers Market is moving outdoors for the summer season every Saturday through October. Each event features 50+ local farmers, food makers and artisans with a goal of building a local, sustainable and organic food economy. Como Park Conservatory Summer Flower Show - Opening Day: Get a taste of spring at Como Park Conservatory’s Winter Flower Show, which closes this weekend in its Sunken Garden. Gallery 360 Spring Clothing Trunk Show Event: Local gallery and shop Gallery 360 hosts its annual spring clothing trunk show event, giving shoppers the chance to peruse the latest handmade fashions by their roster of local and regional designers. Moth Oddities Grand Opening: Yana Pietras and Ian O'Neill began Moth Oddities as an online vintage shop in their tiny Northeast apartment in 2014. It evolved into a traveling pop-up shop where they would source goods on cross-country road trips and receive specialty shipments of Italian vintage from open-air markets in Italy. After nearly 10 years selling vintage online, on the road and quickly outgrowing their first storefront, Moth Oddities is relocating to a larger storefront in the heart of the Saint Anthony neighborhood of Northeast Minneapolis (the former home of FindFurnish). Half of the space will be used for the Moth Oddities vintage shop, including a designated Italian vintage section and an assortment of accessories, home goods and work by local and independent brands. The other half will house Moth Studio, an open-concept workspace for community classes, events and rental. Canterbury Downs Kentucky Derby Party: Celebrate the Kentucky Derby at Canterbury Downs with their annual party. The afternoon includes mint juleps, a live screening of the Kentucky Derby, best-dressed and best-hat contests, a red carpet selfie station, a variety of vendors and live music. NE Neighborhood Makers Market & Bar Hop: The NE Neighborhood Makers Market is back with two new venues and FREE shuttle service around the neighborhood. A makers market and bar crawl in one, this event presented by Wisconsin-based makers market concept, I Heart Indie Markets, returns to Northeast Minneapolis for a multi-venue event. Shop 50-plus local makers spread throughout five locations with a craft brew, hard cider, hard kombucha or craft cocktail in hand. Market Collective MN Makers Market: Led by local maker Chingona Goods, Market Collective MN is a market collective that prioritizes BIPOC and queer vendors and allies, with a different group of makers each market. This weekend’s market heads to Indeed Brewing with goods from a group of 25 local makers, including candles, pottery, original art and stickers, jewelry, upcycled clothing, coffee, vintage decor and more, plus beer and food. The Black Market Spring Festival: Come gather to support and celebrate Black businesses at The Black Market's monthly market. The Black Market is a Black-business marketplace that has become a vibrant community hub. ArtJuice Market: Spaced Out: Local queer artist ArtJuice presents a fresh lineup of local artists and makers with an outer-space theme. 6th Annual Kentucky Derby Twin Cities Party: Hosted by First Thursday Happy Hour, this party celebrates elegant hats, dresses, seersucker and Mint Juleps as it honors the annual tradition of the Kentucky Derby. Fashion Fringe 2023 Gallery Opening: Four fashion enthusiasts out of the mainstream will showcase their fashion creations in a gallery setting at this exhibition presented by local style icon, Saeteesh. Among the participants are Petra Lommen, a transgender, aware-winning artist and educator; Cooper, a fashion creative and model; William Swift, a visionary photo shoot producer; and Saeteesh herself, a 75-year-old model, stylist and influencer. Each artist’s work has then been painted on by an artist on canvas, and fashion illustrations of the garments will also be on display. St. Kate’s Katwalk 2023: The St. Kate’s Katwalk student fashion show is back. The student-run and produced event will feature work created by fashion design and merchandising students, plus a sustainability section including zero-waste apparel construction.
