Astroturf Opening Reception: Gamut Gallery presents Astroturf, an art exhibit inspired by the mid-century movement and pop-culture Southern California suburbia. Mill City Farmers Market: A mainstay since 2006, the Mill City Farmers Market has moved indoors for the winter season select Saturdays through April. FindFurnish Soft Opening: Mid-century furniture and home goods store, FindFurnish, is on the move. It's departed its longtime home in the Marcy Holmes neighborhood for a much-larger space—its own building on Central Avenue in Northeast. The new store will double as a workshop and studio, shipping and receiving garage, and a front gallery and retail space, and they have future plans to host other local and Midwest vintage dealers and events. NE Neighborhood Makers Market & Bar Hop: A makers market and bar crawl in one, this event presented by Wisconsin-based makers market concept, I Heart Indie Markets, returns to Northeast Minneapolis for a multi-venue event. Pop-up Art Sale at Vuefinder Optical: Locally owned optical shop, Vuefinder, is hosting monthly pop-ups for local artists and makers on the third Saturday of each month. The unique, woman-owned optical boutique carries new and consignment designer eyewear, including some vintage styles. This month features artwork by Kari Gregorich, who uses alcohol ink to create gorgeous abstract paintings. She will be selling originals as well as larger scale prints. DAWN: UMN Senior Apparel Design Fashion Show (SOLD OUT): The University of Minnesota’s College of Design is back with its annual Apparel Design Fashion Show, a showcase of original fashion designs by 20 graduating students from its apparel design program. The fashion show provides an opportunity for students to show off their design skills with wearable, retail-ready looks and explore areas of cultural storytelling, adaptable garments, sustainable clothing and gender-neutral designs. Minnesota Landscape Arboretum’s Spring Flower Show: There’s no better time to see a flower show than the end of winter when spring feels so close yet so far away. The Arboretum’s annual Spring Flower Show features a theme of “Gardening With Nature” with a special emphasis on gardens that benefit birds, bees, butterflies and other beneficial insects, as well as backyards that utilize found materials.
