In the wake of the COVID-19 outbreak, local retailers and brands are reacting with special deals and gift card incentives, and pivoting their models to online, with virtual styling services, virtual style shows and other new ways to shop. Here are this week’s top *virtual* style happenings:
TUESDAY:
Every Tuesday, local jewelry brand Larissa Loden is giving back to the local community with its Do Good Tuesday series. Has your skin been freaking out lately? It could be caused by stress. Stress causes your body to make hormones like cortisol, which tells skin glands to make more oil. Stress can also make skin more sensitive and reactive. Suzanne St. James, clinic director of The Metropolitan, will be offer skincare tips and answering questions. The clinic will also be giving away two Platinum Level HydraFacials valued at $250 each during the event, so be sure to tune in on Thursday from 6–7pm at @themonfrance on Instagram or Facebook.
THURSDAY & FRIDAY:

This Thursday, owner Nicole Jennings and her husband, Super Bowl champ Greg Jennings, virtually open up their home for an intimate conversation on creating a flow between home, life, each other, and everything in between. (Thursday 6–7:30pm, $20.) Then on Friday, Nicole will be joined by Angelina Marie, founder of luxury accessories label TAH LIFE, for a fireside chat about their journeys as women founders in retail and a preview of TAH LIFE’s spring collection. Shop online + virtually. Even if they don’t have an online store, many stores offer delivery (many offering free and same-day local delivery). Many shops and makers are also hosting virtual shopping events on their Instagram story. (More on those below.)
Buy a gift card to use later. This will help stores stay on their feet now, and you can wait to shop until it’s nicer outside.
Make a social post & leave positive reviews. Show your support and spread the love any way you can!
All salons and beauty studios will be closed until May 4. Support them by purchasing a gift card, booking your next appointment, and shopping products from their e-commerce stores.
