First Thursdays @ AudreyRose Vintage: As part of First Thursdays at the Northrup King Building, vintage shop AudreyRose Vintage is hosting an evening of photographic vintage fun. She’ll be joined by stylist Abby Kordosky and photographer Anna Powell, who’ll style and shoot attendees in vintage garb, photobooth-style. Curiosity Studio Open Studio Making Night: Get your creative juices flowing with this open studio night with Curiosity Studio at part of Northrup King First Thursdays. Founded by local creatives Ashley Mary (best known for her abstract, color-drenched murals) and Lauren Callis of An Upcycled Closet, Curiosity Studio is “a creative learning studio for adults exploring art as it relates to our whole selves.” Stop in and create collage art that you can take home—no experience or RSVP necessary. 18+, $5 suggested donation. A Night to Kill Kancer: Art of Prevention + MartinPatrick3 Ice Bar Grand Opening: Celebrate the debut of the 2020 cancer prevention graphic posters series from Kill Kancer, hosted by local menswear and design boutique, MartinPatrick3. Pick up a limited-edition print, proceeds of which benefit the cancer prevention nonprofit. The night doubles as the kickoff of the MartinPatrick3 Ice Bar, which takes place in the adjacent alley with cocktails from Hewing Hotel. That’s what inspired two Twin Cities sisters, Amy and Chelsea, to start their own business selling vintage clothing in a wide range of sizes, for every gender expression. Neal Jewelry + Indigo & Snow Sample Sales at Casket Arts: Head to the Casket Arts Building in Northeast to shop handmade jewelry, textiles, art and more by the resident artists. Sweetheart Markets: Stranger & Co. is a small, woman-owned online shop based in the Twin Cities that’s focused on making high-quality design accessible and fairly priced, with goods from artists and designers who are women, people of color, LGBTQ+ and immigrants. The shop will be popping up at the new Waiting Room gallery space in St. Paul for the next two weeks with their selection of goods, and over the next two weekends, they’ll also host a handful of other local makers for Valentine’s gift shopping, including Ital Vibrations and Crybaby Clay this Saturday; Forrest Wasko and Artifactx Vintage on Sunday, and Nice Nice Ceramics and Runi Clay Studio both days.
